If you have the time, and to be honest even if you don’t, take an hour (really 90 minutes) this weekend to watch this lecture honoring the late Ron Litman. It is really worth your time and will honor Ron’s memory. I bought the book Empire of Evil; The secret history of the Sackler family when it was first published. Having watched this lecture by the author Patrick Keefe, I started to reread it on my return from the SPA meeting. I highly recommend it to all of you, particularly if you practice pain medicine.
“Good name in man and woman, dear my lord, Is the immediate jewel of their souls.
Who steals my purse steals trash; 'tis something, nothing; 'Twas mine, 'tis his, and has been slave to thousands; But he that filches from me my good name Robs me of that which not enriches him, And makes me poor indeed.. William Shakespeare, "Othello" (Iago), Act III., Scene 3.”
