Announcing the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia's Pedi Crisis v 2 app update
Myron Yaster MD and Kim Strupp MD
As many of you know, I (MY) believe that the Pedi Crisis app is one of the most important things that SPA has ever done and it should be on everyone’s phone and should be one of the first to do (OK open) in any perioperative emergency. A new version of the app was released today. Most devices will automatically update when connected to Wi-Fi. Some older devices/operating systems cannot install the new version, and will still be able to keep the old version of Pedi Crisis. If you have a newer device that does not automatically update, or if you haven’t already installed it (WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?) you can go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and update the app.

Perhaps the most important new feature of the app is that it is now in both English and Spanish. The default language is English. If you would prefer it in Spanish, after downloading, simply go to the gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the app and switch languages. Many thanks to the Spanish language team led by Drs. Allison Fernandez, Monique Marin, and Esteban Lugol for making this happen.
Finally, the app is the product of an enormous amount of work by SPA’s Check List and Quality and Safety Committees led by Drs. Priti G. Dalal,, Anna Clebone, Barbara Burian, and Kim Strupp. And of course special thanks to Mike Anderson who built the app and continues to maintain it.
